DOMESTIC VIOLENT EXTREMISM
Domestic violent extremism poses one of the greatest terrorism-related threats to the United States. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, domestic terrorism is defined as violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature and includes activities:
The reporting and sharing of information are vital for identifying and examining trends across the State in efforts to keep the public and law enforcement safe and knowledgeable. Significant and detailed reporting allows for a greater statewide threat view as well as the ability to provide more specific statistics and information within areas across the State. Anyone with information on suspicious activity or motivations related to Domestic Violent Extremist groups or individuals with other ideologies is encouraged to file a report via our Suspicious Activity Reporting in the HOW TO REPORT? section on the right-side panel.
