SCHOOL SAFETY

In response to the deadly shooting at Marjory Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in 2018, Louisiana Governor Edwards created the Louisiana Blue Ribbon Commission on School Safety, and LA-SAFE established the School Safety Sector. The LA-SAFE is a repository for any school-related threats reported across various platforms. Additionally, it has a commissioned component that conducts outreach and school assessments.

If you want to request a school assessment, contact the fusion center at 800-434-8007 or via email at [email protected].

For schools that do not have their own reporting program for suspicious activity and other incidents, two current reporting platforms are available free of charge: the RAVE Panic Button Application and the Crime Stoppers Application.

Report the Following Activities

  • Acts of violence, with or without weapons
  • Verbal or physical abuse, assault or harassment
